Line size diameter doesn't make a difference.

All of my spinning rods have braid either 14 or 15 lbs. I also use fluro leaders for mine but will use mono if needed. I have used as low as 6lbs test as my leaders. The key is setting your drag lighter so the no stretch braid wont snap the leader. I have never had a problem not hooking fish with the lighter drag. So people say that this is to much of a problem to fish but the feel and response the braid gives me out ways any problems. JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET BRAID YOU CAN SEE ABOVE WATER, MAKES IT SO MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE.

Thank you for all the info. I tied a modified Alberto knot on a 10 lb mono leader to 20 lb braid . seems really strong , easy  tie and looking forward to trying it out.

Absolutely.  And I think the  Albright knot is the best method of doing so

Wow great site! The timing of this post couldn't have been better. I just spent an hr on YouTube looking for a vid the shows the Albright. Lets just say I have to respool my braid and buy some more fluoro for my leaders. After checking out this site I got it right the first try. Thanks for this resource.

I always use an Albright knot when attaching my leaders, be it fluoro or mono. I usually make 20-24 turns just to be sure it won't slip. Never had a single problem out of this connection knot, and it casts through the guides very well.
