Carolina Rigs?

Featured Replies

Is the point in a c-rig for the trailer to float or sit on the bottom? I could see it being both, but I've been testing my plastics on the shoreline, and it appears that my plastics all sit on the bottom.

What are some good plastics that will help float on a c-rig?

You can make your trailer of choice float by using a foam ear plug in front of your hook. Cut the foam just big enough to work with the size of your trailer. Experiment 'till your happy.

Imo, the point of a C/rig is to create a disturbance on the bottom with the weight and as a fish investigates the disturbance, they find your offering trailing behind. Your bait doesn't necessarily need to float, just be there.

Hm... That's a good idea. You could even use that in tandem with a floating CB to get even MORE buoyancy. I have a ton of foam earplugs in my range bag-- I'm gonna go put some in my tackle bag now!  ;)

I use a syringe to inject air into my plastics to achieve some flotation.
