Hey all,

Got some basic questions for anyone that would like to help out a newbie.  Tried searching, but not sure exactly what to type in.

Ive been mostly fishin 4" plastic worms texas rigged under a slip bobber.  Pretty slow going.

Ive got a bunch of spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and poppers that my uncle gave me that Id like to try out. 

Should I remove the bobber and just run straight line to lure?

Also, Im going to a lake thats pretty murky with lots of weeds and lily pads.  Kinda cloudy today too. 

What do you recommend for lures?

Forget the bobber for sure. I would think that murky water on a cloudy day would be prime time for a buzzbait and spinnerbait.

I would think that a wacky rig would work better with a bobber.

Throw some topwater lures around the lilypads for sure.  And a cloudy day means you got a better chance for bites since the fish may not be as deep.

Topwater should be nice. I'd try some buzzbaits, frogs(stanley ribbit) go for something noisey cranks with rattles. I'd go natural colors with some good fleck. I like bright colors on bright days.
