Featured Replies

im looking for a god jig that i can use for pitching to timber or pitching to weeds/grass. also what once jig would you recommend, i was thinking .5oz but was not sure if thats to much.

Strike King Denny Brauer premier jig in 3/8 or 1/2 would be good.  I like the black/blue and pumpkin green flake.

Arkie type heads are a good compromise.  Basically, I've found that rounder heads come through timber & bushes and  better and pointy heads come through weeds & grass better.  If you are dragging the jig over rocks, I've found football heads work better.

If you want a large profile jig - there are dozens of options out there.  Should you want a smaller profile, I think it is hard to beat the Eakins Heavy Cover jig.

ive been using talon custom jigs and revenge jigs .. but i think my next bunch will be gman

For timber I like the booyah boo jigs or the hack attack jig, with a ragetail Lobster of course.

The Arkie head is a good compromise when fishing different cover. The only jigs I carry with me are football jigs for rocky lakes and Arkie style for everything else.

I bought the Hack Attack jig recently for fishing timber and i LOVE it.  And to say i use a jig alot would be an understatement.

I found out years ago that if I don't give my jigs names like grass or timber I can throw them any where I want and the don't mind.

The hack attack jig is probably my favorite jig to flip... its better balanced than most other jigs... if the water is deeper than 10ft fo with th 1/2 ounce.. less than 10 go with a 3/8 ounce... u can usually get away with the lighter jig if the wind aint blowin to bad..
