Virus Found In Local Potomac River Northern Snakehead

Featured Replies

LMBV has been in the Potomac for a while now. I thought it had run its course at Kerr a couple years ago and the fish population was rebounding nicely.

Might curb the population of snakeys. Tough to say tho, only time will tell!

Wow! As Quan said, hope it helps eliminate the snakeheads, but I doubt it.

Last time on the Potomac this past June I saw only one snakehead when another guy fishing for bass nailed one.

Other than that, have not seen a snakehead on the Potomac for a long time.

I've caught two the last two times I've been fishing in the Potomac. The first was 7 pounds. Yesterday I caught a 8-pounder.

i can catch 3 snakeheads a day and and that would be a verryyyyyy slow day     i dont think they will ever be gone but sure hope that virus doesnt make it down here
