i used spinning gear for years but changed to bc gear last year which i love but i throw inline spinners sometimes when the bites tough so i bought one spinning outfit just for that but it feels so awkard now i sold it and bought another bc i guess ill have to use my kids spincaster for spinners

2nd this, I didn't like using my spinning reels after I learned baitcasters..but there are some techniques that are more efficient with a spinning setup. 

i still love my spinning reels after buying a couple baitcasters...

I learned to use a baitcaster before I learned to use spinning gear. I still use both. I do have a few minutes of "learning" when switching from one to the other. The casting motion is slightly different. 

 

Become proficient with both and you'll be a more versatile angler.

Both have places and you need to use both in specific situations and presentations.

I would rather use a spinning rig to flip and pitch than a baitcaster.

I would rather use a baitcaster to throw moving baits.

Fish how you want to fish, but no matter what club you feel most comfortable with, sometimes you need a putter, and sometimes you need a driver...

If you don't like spinning reels for finesse applications, a Shimano 50 size reel would fit the bill pretty well, small jigs to shaky heads to weightless flukes, even those little crankbaits that seem to catch fish all the time.

 

I am not a huge fan of spinning gear, I am nowhere near as accurate with them and baitcasters feel better in the palm of my hand.

 

However a spinning reel set up for a drop shot is a pretty useful tool.

I started using my light action spinning outfit this year after about a six year layoff.  I hated it at first. Considering that was the style equipment I learned on and used for almost 30 years, I was dumbfounded. Couldn't cast it accurately, the line would jump off the spool, line twist, etc.  After forcing myself to use it for a couple of days, all of the headaches dissapeared and I started enjoying using it again.  I'd never go out with only spinning gear, but now I'll never go out with at least one combo.
