Which Seat Would You Buy???

Featured Replies

So I want to try one of these butt seats out with a tall pedestal but don't want to spend a ton of money in case I don't like it. So....which of these low cost seats would you chose??

You realize, those are only the seats without the post. I don't think it matters one way or the other. You will need to get the brand of the base and the diameter measurement to match up a post.

That's right.

The seats are inexpensive, the money is in the

Pedestal, and bracket.

I think the height is more critical than the seat.  A good seat at the wrong height will be uncomfortable.   A mediocre seat at the correct height will be more comfortable.

An adjustable pedestal is the way to go.  The proper height for you will vary with conditions.  A glassy calm day, almost any height will work, since your seat is a leaning post.  A sloppy, windy day in a rocking boat, and you might prefer a shorter post.

Standing in one position becomes uncomfortable.  Slight changes in pedestal height can help prevent sore backs and legs.

What they said.  An adjustable post is preferable to one that isn't.  As far as the seat itself goes, get the one with the most padding.  Don't skimp.

Yes I realize that is only the seat. I was just wondering which SEAT one would choose since they are basically the same price. I already have an adjustable post and seat plate picked out.  Do any of you have experience using the lean method? Is that how you normally fish?
