Got Out Fished By My Wife Again.

Featured Replies

There is really not much that is more fun than having someone that doesn't fish often out-fish you. She comes back to the lake maybe 5x a year with me and I go back about 3-4 times a week.

She caught 3 or 4 this size and about 6 others that were a bit smaller.

Highlight was a 9" 1.3lb Bluegill that I regret not taking a picture of. It had beautiful colouring and after I looked it up was only 2" and .5 lb off of the provincial record.

The Bluegill took a 5" senko on a 3/0 hook.

The pictured fish was caught around 5:00 with a Pflueger President, BPS Xtreme 6'6" MH with 30lb braid and a T-rigged Berkley Tequila Sunrise powerworm.

LoL - She gets that from me. I wear a glove 95% of the time now. Honestly don't know why more C&R people don't.

Aside from the time I got a treble buried in the heel of hand, I find I get a 100% better grip which allows me to get the hook out way easier and faster and in turn reduces the stress on the fish. Just my experiences in the last 3 years I have been using one.

I own my own business and I fish about 3-5x a week and catch on average 10 / outing.  Bass thumb is great and all but when dealing with clients having a hand that looks like a foot that has been sitting in a WWI trench at Passchendaele for a month during the wet season does not always make the best impression. :)

I use a neoprene glove with "grippy stuff" on it , forget where I got it. Seriously try it once and I swear you will notice a 100% grip increase in handling the fish and removing the hook.

Thanks!

No just a small lake on the backside of my property.
