So I had a fun experience fishing last weekend in a tournament.  10 mph winds (20mph gusts) and up to 4 foot waves throughout most of the day.  The primary pattern we ended up fishing was submerged weeds in 10-15 FOW.  He used a drift sock to slow us down but we still ended up moving at a pretty fast clip.

 

I ended up pitching/flipping a craw tried the drop shot and also tried a spinnerbait.  Only could muster 2 fish.

 

How would you guys had fished this.

 

As a note I was in the back of the boat (co-angler) if that makes a difference.

I would have also let you up front so we could parallel it as well and keep the nose in the wind a bit and just let the back end swing towards shore.

This!  I love wind.  Wind blown banks, humps and funnels are the deal.  If you're in the right place a crankbait is the only bait you'll need ALL day.  Even the big ones cant resist getting in on the action!  

I had similar conditions this past Sunday.  I fished the windy points to no avail, ended up locating bites in protected coves, and very shallow.  I came in 5th with five alive, but lost a fish (amazingly, broke it off!) that would have upgraded my 12" dink. I had the winning pattern, just didn't catch my five biggest bites.

Sounds like the perfect scenario for a lipless crank. It's easier to cast into the wind and maintain contact with and having your presentation move in the same direction as the current is almost always a plus. Did you guys fish the edges (sides) of the weed bed.  Often the inside edge will produce if the wind is blowing into it. 

Sounds like you did alright considering, but next time don't be afraid to make suggestions to the boater, especially if you're both struggling.
