Santa is talking about getting me some fishing tackle for christmas.. and I am thinking about stocking up on crankbaits and maybe some spinnerbaits but my question is going to be... 

 

For cranks, do you guys like the 3-5xd stuff or is spro the way to go.. or is there something else I need to look into.. most of what I have is rapala shad raps and some old excalibur medium divers and such.. but my collection is not impressive to me, nor do I have confidence in many of the cranks I have in my box.. What would you guys say if I had to choose maybe 10-15 cranks... (colors included) would be a staple of a good crankbait tackle box.. dont need any 10xd or anything.. and I fish mostly between 0-18ft.. rivers and lakes in the south alabama area.. LET ME KNOW and have fun!

Strike King is a good choice as far as bang for you buck goes. Spros are great baits but twice as expensive as the Strike Kings but they also come with good hooks that you don't have to change out before you fish with them. I have the Strike King cranks in everything from the little 1.0 up to the 6XD in green gizzard shad, it just works around here for some reason. The 1.0, 1.5, 3XD, and Series 5 are my favorites. 

Bandit would be another good bait to look into that catches fish and doesn't break the bank. I've been a big fan of the 100 and 200 series for a long time and I really like the 250 Ledge that they came out with a year or two ago. 

Norman's Lures is another good option. The Little N, Fat Boy, and DD series are all proven baits with good colors to choose from. 

I'd suggest getting a few proven colors in each and deciding which ones you and the fish like better then expanding your collection a little more.

I been using the Norman thin "n" crankbaits. The chartreuse killer is a bass killer just cast it out and twitch it. They try to rip it off my line. I also use the Norman "fat boy" crankbaits. If you search for them there is s website that have the fatboys on sale. Sales are awesome we get to purchase more for less. Bill
