Take them back!!!! The one great thing about my local Cabelas is when you buy a reel the clek opens the box and hands you the reel to check out before hand, it is a reason I try to get a reel there on sale but sometime online prices are just too good to pass up. Good luck with the reels.

One more vote for returning them.  Don't let the clerk try and tell you "that they all do that, its just the way there made".

While I agree these reels should've been perfect out of the box and returned, I bought them about an hour away.  So I took a shot and put a few drops of oil in each one.  Silenced them both with a quickness.  Like they weren't properly lubed on the line.
