Fortunate for the rest of us Fl guys in the comp that LOX is shut down. That guy posted a video the other day and he said the fishing was good there.

Do you have one of those tracker type bass boats?

Nope, just my little V Hull John Boat.

I read that on the cover of the newspaper while in line at the convienent store. It's really crappy if you think about from all side the fisherman and the employees that work for the state park.

Lox being shut down is a joke.  All it does is take in money (dropbox honor system).  It's not even staffed.  There's a couple garbage cans there which get taken out probably once a month.  They spent more effort sending someone out to lock the place up then they would spend keeping it open.

I'm a little bit bitter, in case you can't tell.  I've been crushing the hawgs out there every single trip since the second week of August.  I've got at least 50 fish over 5lbs since then. And I've got a tournament out there third week of October.

I saw Byron Velvick post on Facebook that Lake Amistad is closed also.

Plenty of places for me to fish bass in Florida, glad the ocean is still open.  It's very good now, snook, tapon, jacks, spanish macs, bluefish and the mullet run hasn't started yet.

State parks should be open without employee layoffs, except for budgets cuts that aren't part of the federal shutdown.

Yes, you are inconvenienced but give the fish a rest.

The Potomac River is being over fished and I am in favor of closing it down from pre spawn through post spawn each year or one or two months during the hot summer months.

Same is true with the Chickahominy River. Lots of people fishing for those monster Florida strain bass and the fishing results have dropped off.

When the ramps reopen you will probably enjoy some of the best fishing you ever had on the Lox.

True, but the fish aren't there. Water levels in the glades are high to help offset the water up in the lake.

Can't wait until it reopens, those fish haven't seen a lure in a week at least!  I have a HAWG marked that I can't wait to get to!
