Hand Poured Soft Plastics

Featured Replies

For my Lake Erie tubes I use Dry Creek Custom Baits, and another company called Lake & River Lures by Fred Schubert. Both are great quality and color selection.

I also like to use the Joe Balog Goby swimbait when they are 20fow or less.

I'd second Paul Krew's Custom Baits. The only drawback is that he's weeks out on production, so you have to plan ahead to give him a few weeks.

Why specific baits for Lake Erie bass? - aren't  most bass susceptible to most soft plastic lures no matter the water?

Erie is a different animal.  Those fish have seen it all.  Can you roll up and toss XYZ brand watermelon or green pumpkin whatever and catch fish.  Yes, sometimes.  When I've been thru my entire arsenal of Crosstails or Shad Shape worms and haven't sniffed a fish, it's nice to pull out a crosstail in a 'special' color and get bit.

I've been crusiing through ebay and buying plastics in bulk from guys pouring their own. Good quality and they are cheap. I just bought 100 pack of grubs for 20 bucks and bought another 100 last week for 15. Both guys were based in the US. Definitly worth checking out especially if you would like to buy in bulk.
