I need some opinions. San Diego offers some of the best weather in the country, however its that time of the year when a little bit of rain falls upon us. So Im hitting a local lake tomorrow, being Lake Murray. When I usually start fishing early am my first bait is the frog. Second the senko , then the fluke, sweet beav,etc etc. 

 

Tomorrow's forcast is high 67, partly cloudy, Winds ssw 5to10. 

 

So my question is should i start off throwing the frog? I just got my new powell and Im anxious to get a bend on it.

If you want to fish a frog, go for it. Might want to consider a white or white/chartreuse color frog that mimics threadfin shad in the bushes.

here's a 7.1lbs frog fish from murray from this summer, I use Dean Rojas frog cause he grow up fishing this lake and learned how to topwater fish here  ... murray is my home lake...,  Do you have a float tube?

Dude nice fish.. I dont but I may just go back to  turners and get the fat cat thats on clearance! Not sure if your familiar with santee lakes but I absolutely drilled lake 5 on frogs last week... Lets get up and and smack em man

just got a 9 lbs bass at murray on sat-.... FISH CAT IS THE WAY TO GO... san diego flyshop has them also... you get a tube i will give you fins..  going to murray friday & sat-  they let you in so early you can fish in the dark for a hour before sunrise... 

Awesome man! Im just going from shore tomorrow. Im getting a tube, I seriously may go to turners and buy it. I  was just there an hour ago. Where should I start from shore at murray? I only fished it once and I got a few dinks. What are your go to baits  at murray. Im ready to get this 8" hudd in the water   Of course when the time comes!

north side at the baseball fields is where i go... purple  senkos is there fav.   zoro spoke in the morning. crank baits out deep & senko is my go to baits..

perfect! i have hundreds of senkos! almost in every color.
