  1. Cali is a very great place to fish. But extremely tough! The lakes are so pressured, and honestly there isn't a presentation/bait they haven't seen. But your chances of getting a double digit fish are extremely high. Some of the biggest bass are caught right here in San Diego county. Im from mississippi, and i must say its a great fishery too. Small ponds everywhere that hold a lot of fish. Florida is a great place also. But i must say, Cali has to be number one, for quality. The southern states will come in second for quantity.
  2. dropshot is a extremely deadly rig. hows the water clarity? dropshot a robo or fluke. Always produces fish. USE Smaller Baits! good luck man!
  3. Got this and a couple others like it a couple nights ago. It was extremely cold for san diego. Keep it simple. Senko and 8# mono. work it extremely slow. Smaller baits in the winter will get you more bites.
  4. Im not even worrying about it anymore. It gives them character.
  5. Whats up y'all, So today me and a buddy did a night tubing trip here in sd on the sd river. We got into some nasty slop. My white chronarchs have this green stain on them from the water. I tried scrubbing with soap and water but that dosnt work. Any Ideas? Thanks again

  9. Hey guys I have the crucial spinnerbait rod and was wondering what else can it do besides a spinnerbait. here are the specs. thanks guys. 7'2 med heavy ex-fast 12-25 3/4-1 1/4 P.S I posted this question on another local fishing site and i got the answer.. " What it says on the rod". No other site could ever compare to this site. Just thought you guys should know, Im very thankful for being a member on this site!
  10. You can find great reviews on Tackle Wharehouse. I do somewhat trust the ratings to a certain extent. However everybody is different. If its a rod or reel im purchasing, I have to see it first hand. Baits and other tackle I just go by word of mouth.
  11. thanks guys, what do yall use to weight your baits?
  12. I know jigs are a very popular topic. To me they are the most confusing bait to purchase do to how many there are, styles and all. I want to place an order with seibert outdoors but im just trying to get good recommendations on which styles. So far im looking at the brush and football's. what would you guys get to cover all the conditions in the water. I have colors down pat. thanks again guys!
  13. Leader is what I meant. AUTOCORRECT..... anyways, Thanks guys jut wanted some intel on these guys.
  14. i wonder how they work? They look pretty decent..
  15. I have never seen a worm like this. I bought a BPS worm binder full of hundreds of gycb senkos ( for 20 bucks) and I found these. They have a liter which feels like 20 #flouro. Also they are weedless style. Any suggestions?
  16. I always just run a leader. FC is pricey. Ive never had a problem with using a leader.
  17. Spending more on a rod is totally worth it. Shimano crucials are great rods, with lifetime over the counter warranty.
  18. I also live in San Deigo and its so hard to beat Tackle Warehouse. Being we get our shipment the next day and cheaper prices, you cant beat it.
  19. welcome brian! keep at it and you will start sticking some big pigs!
  20. here are the colors I use. green pumpkin , pumpkin seed, hillbilly deluxe, hot tamale, delicious, junebug, okeecheebee craw, and a couple others. Two of those are the new kinky beaver, they have a ton of more action as their tail's are different. Experiment with them and soon enough you will start learning how to fish them. I sure hope this helps bud.
  21. I fish alot of beavers. I have almost every color, They are one of my favorite baits. I like to t-rig them just like a worm, or peg the weight. These things are DEADLY when flipping or pitching to heavy cover... Make sure you split the tail, you get alot more action that way. The sweet beavs are my favorite beaver style bait. They catch fish. Do a slow slow retrieve, hop it drag it. tTo me they work best in cover. Throw it some tullies or salad and get ready! Me personally i like to use tungsten with them, although it can get quite expensive.
  22. this is true. I love pitching sweet beaver's and rage craws, but thursday I was fishing my med-heavy worm and jig rod and happend to be by some tulles, so i "pitched" my senko in there and all hell broke loose! It was definetly a good fight.
