To those of you that have fished with over-sized arbor spinning reels the last several years, what do you think of them now?  Do they have relevance used with PE lines?

Whether one likes them or not probably will boil down the specif reel itself.  I've had 3 of them, 2 I still own and one I returned.  Of the 2 I have in service, I see no difference in performance, drag or durability, the wider spools should have more ipt.

I have a couple of the US Reels 230 & 240 sized Supercasters spinning reels and they work ok for me.  I got them because the price was right (around $40) and I don't demand a whole lot out of my spinning reels.

The drags on the US Reels really don't compare to the drags on any of the Shimano reels I own, but that hasn't been a problem.   I keep the drags set pretty light most of the time anyway.

A large arbor may make heavier line a little easier to manage but that could be negated if the stripper guide on the rod is too small. Rule of thumb when we build a rod is that the stripper is about 1/2 the diameter of the spool.
