They both swim very true and have good tail action. I'm curious as to what everyone else is using (bait,weight/hook,line)?

I'm throwing a lot of a local handpour. It's been a good bait for me thus far. Throwing them on a 6/0 Beast weighted, or 8/0 weighted. I'm using Tatsu Fluorocarbon in 20lb and love the rig.

It's one of the most productive muskie baits I fish in Spring, and it's been incredibly productive for me this year with fish over the 7lb mark.

Question:  I got some bass magic swimbaits a short while ago.  How are you rigging them?  I bought some hooks with the spring wire in the eyelet (to screw into the front of the bait) and lead on the shank and I find that if I don't rig the hook perfectly, the swimbait isn't balanced and either swims on its side or doesn't wiggle properly.  Am I using too little lead on the hook?

Any suggestions?

You could definately try a heavier hook depending on what you using now. I'm using an eagle claw lazer sharp hook 3/16 weight 5/0 twistlock. It does have to be pretty centered but off alittle it still runs true. I have it texas rigged and skin hooked.

This summer, I've been using Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad, both the 3-1/2" and 5-1/2". I use Eagle Claw swimbait hooks, 3/0, 1/8 oz. for the 3-1/2" and 5/0 3/16 oz.. for the 5-1/2".

I've done pretty well with white in waters where there's a lot of shad, and watermelon seed where sunfish are abundant.

I throw a 4.5 and 6 inch shadalicious swimbait. The only colors I use are sexy shad and neon ghost minnow. I tried money minnows, but I find them to be too soft.

For hooks, I use moaners or laser sharps. The 4.5 baits get a 3/0 1/8 oz and the 6 gets a 5/0 3/16 oz. I like to keep my weights as light as possible. I don't like to burn them because then it looks like a shad having a seizure... I slow roll them just enough to get the tail kicking with an occasional pause just to make the head drop. This gives the bait a great darting action.
