Ever Have Friendly Competitions?

Featured Replies

I was wondering if any of you all ever have tournaments amongst your friends. Whether it be just for bragging rights or for money or for some fishing tackle. It could be from the bank with five or six friends or it could be several kayaks or boats at the local lake. I am thinking about doing a few of these locally here in North Carolina with some friends.

Yep. Me and my buddy went bank fishing at his new honey hole yesterday. I ended up with 11 and he got 8. He also got lunch.

Oh yeah I forgot that lunch is a prize too. :-)

We have the local Bojangles here and me and my buddy love that place.

Every time we hit the water ;)

I wish. I have a few fishin buddies, and we have a good time. But the only one who gets into bass fishing as much as I do lives a couple hours away unfortunately.

Yes we do a panfish tornie between me and my two sons. Side by side if one of us missed the bite the other two would cast in the same spot. I'm still laughing right now as I write this just thinking about it. By the time we left we had bobbers hanging in the trees. But I won for the most caught. The fish won because they got fed. My side's hurt from laughing so much during the competition. It's the best thing a family can do together. I hope to do it again with the whole family and make it a cookout too. Since the daughter in laws fish too.

Yep. Lots of fun, too.

I'd love it! Gonna try more to get to know other local fishermen around here. This site is helping me with my shyness! Bill, wish I was next door to your family :D

Yeah we usually do a dollar for biggest fish. Its pretty much for bragging rights. Fun times though !

When my dad fishes with me and my son, we fish for a dollar on the first fish and dollar on the biggest fish. Dad uses live bait and tends to do quite well.

You're looking at Mr. first fish of the year 2010,11,and 12

It's like being in the presence of royalty

I have always wanted to do this.  The problem is (or has always been) that it's tough enough to find one free person to accompany me let alone finding another person willing to take their boat out too.
