Daiwa Ss Tournament Spinning Reel Question

Featured Replies

It's been quite a while since I handled an SS Tournament reel, so I don't remember this.  Does it have instant anti-reverse? Or is there a bit of play in the handle?

No instant AR.

Great reels but outdated in my opinion. The way reel oscillates creates so much wobble it is really annoying and makes you appreciate the reels we have today.

Great drags, very durable, but lacks the refinements of newer reels. The long cast spool remains one of the best for line management. I have one that's at least twenty years old, still works fine.

The steelheaders love them. I have a 1300 & a 1600 model. Also a tournament ss II 2000C. Great drags & good casters with the long spool as already mentioned.

I have a couple still rolling along - nope no instant anti-reverse.
