I managed to go out today just shy of couple of hours before the rain rolled in. I managed to catch a pig. This one came in at a chunky 19" and 5lbs. I caught it on a SK caffeine shad in pearl blue. Weightless, with a 3/0 Gami, on 10lb yozuri. Wind was from the NE 15-20mph, temp was 83 degrees, partly cloudy, until the rain clouds rolled in from the North. This one puts me at 88.5" I was able to cull the 14" I had.

that is a nice fat fat fatty

Suck on this Gambler!   P.S. On a t-rigged 6" green zoom lizard, 3/16 bullet weight, 3/0 EWG hook, 50# green braid. Dropped across a canal into some cover, let it dropped, and before it hit the bot

  • I'm in and I will start us off. Got this 19.5", girth was about 11" this morning(sorry about the crappy pic, tape got twisted) on a Texas rigged redshad green flake 7" gambler ribbon tail with a 5/0

  • Color Change: My color choice is determined by how bright it is outside along with the clarify of water. Clear skys and clear water I'll go with a natural color like black/brown/white or black/green/y

it's my favorite soft plastic, and it get's the job done in FL :)

There's no doubt lizards get the job done. I was just commenting on how the lizard is definitely your go to lure. We all have them. ;)

Best of luck to everyone that goes out this weekend. I know fishingator is anxious to wet some lines. LOL. Weather is going to be iffy so let's see what happens. I know some of you are fishing tournaments, best of luck on that as well. I will post standings on Monday as usual.

Today's top times: 11-12am, and 5-7pm. Good luck.

Out to the new spot by 8am. Overcast and breezy. Second cast I caught a 15" on a zoom speed worm black and blue rigged on a 3/0 and braid, weedless, weightless. Thought it was a good sign for the new spot then...nothing. SO switched to a junebug fluke and caught one. I walked waaaaay down to another pond. Threw my worm, a gambler big EZ, and a wacky rigged worm and nothing. Switched to swim bait and caught a small that threw the hook. Next thing I know I've got a good one on. I'm still by myself and it jumped a few times. It was pulling drag and I was concerned it would throw the hook of it kept jumping. Got it to shore. Just a 17.5" but it was a nice fight. He was caught on my lucky Walmart special pole on mono, with an old one-eyed blue gill swim bait lol.

Great job Gator, I got your fish down.

Thank you!!! There seems to be a lot of variation in color around here. I have been pulling up some really pretty ones. This was a new area that I'm about to become obsessed with. There's three or four decent sized ponds and a canal that runs down the back. Peaceful. Quite a bit of variation in vegetation etc. My new happy place :)

I'm gonna hit my banks tomorrow. Gonna see whats the layout. Lilltle bit in the morn, but then got to do some stuff around the house. Gonna see if I can figure out the productivity of the water here.

Hey look what's for dinner (actually lunch tomorrow)!

Went out today and got some bass and snakeheads, since mom is in town and she loves fish, I decided to bring some home with me :) Nothing worth sharing inches of though...

My first fish of the day, 18".  Caught on a blue berry Rage Tail Cut R worm.

I hooked this fish earlier in the day but did not boat it.  We went back about 2 hours later and Tommy boated her.  22" and 4.80 lbs but he's not playing this month.  Caught on a black/blue baby paca craw.

We caught a bunch of smaller fish early in the day but not much after lunch.

We did manage to win the tournament and have the biggest fish.  Great day overall in some really crappy weather.

RoLo, Roger and Lois (Long time BR members) came out to the weigh in.  I was great to finally meet them in person.

Heres my only fish to add for the week I got a few days ago....

Went out to Loxahatchee today despite knowing it was going to be tough. The fish were tearing up spinners, but I ran out after these stupid bowfins destroyed them all... and lost a 1.5oz tungsten and trokar hook on one in the salad. It hit like it was a gator, snapped 65lb like nothing. Im starting to hate them as much as snakeheads!!
