What weight shaky head

Featured Replies

What weight shaky head do you guys use? Do you base your decision on the size of the plastic you are using or the depth you are fishing?

Example, what weight for a finesse worm fishing in 2 to 10 ft. of water.

for shakey head 2-10 i would use 1/8 or 3/16 or 1/4 it all depends on how fast you want to fall and wind

I don't do SH a lot, but when I do I tend to go with 1/4 oz as a universal - I can't see there being that much difference in a 1/16 or 1/7 oz either way.

I use 1/8 for almost all situations. On a very rare occasion, I'll use 1/4 oz.

Depends on what I'm fishing. For example if I'm fishing a craw I like to use a heavier weight to try and drag the craw across the bottom and also for making small hops with it. If its a worm I like bigger hops and being able to shake the rod tip and have it quiver. Everyone will probably have different techniques and they all probably work.

Usually I'm using 3/16.  If the wind is heavy, I'll bump to 1/4.  If it's really deep and the wind is heavy, I'll go as high as 3/8.

i use a 1/4 and 3/8

I like to use 1/8 or 3/16. If the conditions call for a heavier weight, I'll use a different lure.

usually 1/8-3/16, sometimes a 1/4 but only with strong wind.

Depending on the bottom structure, but normally 1/16oz with the spinning and 1/8oz with the baitcaster.

almost always 3/16 Giggy head original
