Florida/disney

Featured Replies

So I'm sitting here in our coach bus on our way to Disney. I've already seen about 20 bodies of water that look like they had bass. Why does every storm runoff pond look like a ten pounder is in there? The canals look really cool too. Would love to take a fishing vacation down here by myself.

Yeah, but all the fish in those lakes make mechanical noises and sing "It's a Small World" ad nauseam.

There is one retention area right on I-4 near Disney that is a well known lunker producer.

For a nominal fee, they will let you on the ponds at Disney.

Just depends on your definition of "nominal"

Yeah, well the ones outside of Disney look amazing too.  They're every 500 yards too.  Crazy.

Lots of those small lakes and ponds have a good quantity of decent size bass in them.  If you have access fish them, if not fish Turkey Lake right next to Universal.  I know it has quality fish and a great boat rental deal.  You will not be disappointed.

Isn't that the one that they only allow a certain amount of boats per day and you can only go out on the boats they rent?

I think my inlaws have a timeshare at the westgate resorts on that lake but the two times i have been there, i haven't fished.

yes it is a limited access lake.  It is also a catch and release lake.  That's why the fishing has been so good , so long.  If you go, don't miss an opportunity to fish it.
