Featured Replies

I ran to best buy and swapped out my wireless router that kept kicking me off line. I upgraded to another brand, belkin dual band router. The hooking up part was a cinch but when i go to get on line i get a message that says,We cant connect to your isp ,please call your internet service provider .Tell them your router was able to get an ips address but dns is not working.Do i really need to call at&t ?   It also says if i want to try and set it up manually i need to know if i have a dynamic connection or a pppoc connection or a static connection. I don"what type of connection i have. UGH! Thanks for the help.

Call them or have them send a tech out, or call Belkin.  Normally having both computers select the correct gateway and dns works, but sometimes conflicts occur.

DNS is a public service provided by many different organizations (most people usually use the server provided to them by their ISP, but this isn't the only way.) Look up 'public dns servers' and use ones that are close to where you're located. PM me if you can't get online and need somebody to get the IP #'s for you.
