Featured Replies

i have a bass tournament with my high school bass club (State Tournament ) in May (18) at the delta and if am able to go i would like to catch some fish. lol. I have never been fished  their and i have no idea what works. anything helps thanks. even if it is what you caught something on their that normally you dont use. thanks!

Txt me I'll give u tips. You can throw almost anything there and catch fish.

in may some fish will still be spawing and some will be post spawn, open up ur tackle box and pick ur favorites, weightless 5 or 6 in senkos can be a killer..

Love that place. I used to try and fish the small places with tules on outside bends. Had to run and gun a lot but they recieved less pressure. Flippin a green pumpkin tube (big one from dry creek) with a 1/8 bullet. Another rod would have a 1/2 oz crome blue rattle spot.

Just sayin

What bout jigs? just made a big order from my jig sponsor. i got some in red, black pbj and many others. i was thinking of flipping white craws or something if they are bedding

If the water conditions are anything like last years tournament you won't be able to even see bed fish

Two delta anglers come to mind; Dee Thomas and Andy "Cooch" Cuccia. You can talk to Cooch via his web site, suggest hiring him for a day. Dee has a few books, several magazine articles on fishing the delta.

The CA delta is a river tidal area, actually several rivers and a massive tidal area that is too big to learn in one trip, it takes years to learn and the reason Cooch is my choice to teach you the basics of tidal bass fishing.

I had a 75 fish day last summer there using a black cavitron buzzbait.....
