Chronarch 50 Mg Knob Question

Featured Replies

The knot on my 50 mg tuned into gum so I'm planning replace it. Also I know there are no bearings in the stock knobs. So my question is may I just replace it with the knobs from Chronarch E series or I have to change the handle as well? Thanks!

You don't need to order anything but the knobs to replace the current ones. Simple change.

Thanks! One more question is if I want upgrade the knobs with bearings should I change the handle? I lose the maunal so I dont know if the handle could fit bearings or not.

i just looked at the schematic for the chronarch 50mg on the shimano website's parts ordering page...it shows the handle assembly as one-piece. if you remove your current knobs, you'll be able to tell if you can install ball bearings or not...just look for plastic bushings inside the knobs and order the same size bearings. however, if it were me, i'd just replace the entire handle assembly with a longer 84mm handle with the larger, power septon knobs off of the chronarch 200E.

Thanks for your information. I tried to remove the knob with a screwdriver but can get the screw out. May be they were assembled as onepiece.

That's because it's reverse thread.
