Miami- Any Spot Suggestions?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, im out of Miami, specifically Kendall. Ive fished the tammiami trail and never really had any luck there. I really only have one small neighborhood lake that produces any good fish for me ( a few 5-6 and one 9 or 10 pounder) but other than that i dont have much luck finding spots. Anyone have any areas or spots that produce nice fishing in Miami or Kendall area?

Anywhere Captain Shane is!! Lol seems like he runs Miami

Many areas of Snapper Creek are very good.

Tropical Parks is also nice and has 4 lakes and ponds - nice and quite during the week, sometimes crowded during the weekends.

There are many more areas in Kendall area if you are interested drop me a pm

There is a canal down south of Homestead / Florida City that produces some good fish. If you go towards the entrance of Everglades National park it is the last canal you cross before you enter ENP. If you get to the visitor center you went too far. There is a boat ramp on the north side of the road put your boat in there and go south, the canal dead ends about 2 miles south of the road but it produces some good fishing with fish in the 4 to 6 lb class especially with top water plugs at night. You will usually be the only boat in the canal.

as ( bassinlou ) suggested use goggle earth & maps..in all honesty thats 1 of my main tools 2 scout out new fishing locations.i love 2 explore new fishing grounds & dont mind taking the time 2 do it..i just found a new remote canal deep in the woods east of card sound road in homestead, that looks very promising, ill have 2 cut a trial thru the woods just 2 get 2 it,im all ready getting my atv & gear ready 2 go fish it on tuesday 2 see what happens..im taking lures, live worms, bread balls & my casting net.im pulling fish out of there if its the last thing i do hahaha.

In you area I would try behind the falls shopping center.  There is a canal with a dirt ramp.  I have caught nice peacock there up to six pounds.
