My setup is a 6'3" Medium Rod, 8lb Fluorocarbon.  I generally use a 1/0 or 2/0 EWG hook and begin with a 1/8oz sinker.

 

Worked well for me last year.

 

What do you guys use?

For some reason the Mojo is one rig I never think about.

I think I'm going to try it this upcoming year with a 6'6" MH Compre, paired with a President and 8# Yozuri Hybrid line... The hook size and weight you mentioned is also good, as far as baits what are your favorites?

My #1 producer by far was the Strike King Fat baby Finesse worm.  Caught a ton on it this year.  It was hard for me to try more things than that but I did.  My #2 producer was a Keitech Easy Shiner with a 3/16oz sinker.  Allowed me to fish it faster and cover more water.

 

Besides those I also used Zoom trick worms along with various other finesse worms.

Couple of tips on this rig, make a wire rubber strand pulling tool and try the mojo weight as a slip shot rig.

The tool is simple; 1/4 oz lead bullet weight and 7 Strand Surflon 45 lb wire. Cut the wire 5" long, fold in half and crimp the bend end tight. Put the open ends into the length of bullet weight an crimp tight in a vice. Open the 2 wire into a elongated diamond shape. Put the mojo weigt on your line, then Push the wire end through the mojo weight, place the rubber strands into the opening between the wires and pull back out using the flattened bullet weight. Easier and faster than using a piece of line.

Slip shot rig; put the mojo weight up your line, follow with a bead, then pull rubber strands through the bead and trim. The bead is a stopper for the mojo weight., no knots to tie except the hook on the main line. Fishing rocky structure, the slip shot rig out performs the mojo rig, better strike detection.

Top Brass Pro- Jo weights painted black work great with the slip shot rig.

You can fish nearly every soft plastic on these rigs; worms, Hula grubs, creatures of all types.

So in other words the mojo weight is free and the bead is what you peg instead.  A "true" baby carolina rig then.

 

I will try this with a Carolina Keeper next spring.  Sounds interesting.
