      Just got back from a couple of hours of fishing at canal close to my house. Bite was slow, but somehow convinced these guys to bite.      Even an Exotic (Mayan Cichlid) decided to hit.

    Yeah I had some folks tell me to go smaller but it was just a combo of things that got me.

    The price was 200 for a saltwater rated motor, that really drove it home for me. It has a battery meter, it's something I can put on a bigger boat when I get one, and I figure I won't be running it on full speed most of the time anyways. It will be more for moving locations at a decent rate without having to get a really expensive outboard. 

    I plan on having an extra battery on board anyways, just in case. 

    I missed the saltwater part in your original post, in that case yes you definitely made a good buy. Make sure you check the weight restrictions on your raft.  Those batteries run 50-60 lbs each so if you plan on carrying an extra make sure to distribute the weight evenly (maybe put the spare battery up front).

    Yup the weight limit is 1000 lbs which should be plenty for 2 people and all my gear.
