Antique lure...Moonlight #1900

Featured Replies

I've done very little research on this thing.  I bought this on an impulse about 10 years ago.  It's been just sitting on a shelf and it might be time to send it to somebody who can appreciate it more than me.  I think this is a Moonlight #1900 from around the early 1920's.  I do not know how much it's worth.  I'd like you all to give me an idea what I should ask for it when I post it in the flea market sometime in the future.

Those lures are usually worth some money.

Honestly I'd check up on the Vintage lure catalog and see what it might be worth.

If anything That would be up in my fishing room on a shelf. I wouldn't get rid of it if I were you. Even if it ain't worth anything it's still a jump back in time kinda lure. IMO

Unless you're hurting for cash I wouldn't sell it right now. Collectors are not paying what they were 10 years ago. If you do put it up for bids, like on Ebay, I'd put a reserve of $50 on it. Had it been in Ex condition with nothing more than age cracks in the paint, you might get as high as $150. Too bad you don't have the original box it came in, then you could really command a price. If I was you though, I'd just hold on to it until times get better. I keep my vintage lures and reels in a curio and enjoy showing them to folks who appreciate old tackle.

You can send a letter to the guy in Bassmaster Magazine who does appraising. He has an article in every issue
