Yeah some giant stripers, I only bass fish though. Love West Point lake me and my family take a trip there every spring and fish. Haven't been the last couple years because it seemed every time we would drive over they had the lake sucked dry. But I've heard they held it up pretty good this last year.

Yea last year we finally got enough rain to keep it at full pool. caught some really nice bass last year. I'm hoping this year will be just as good. if you make it this way shoot me a pm maybe we can get together an catch some fish.

how is smith lake i hear its really clear water there? Seen an article in aon where they were getting some really big spots?

Really deep clear mountain lake. A lot of ppl call it the "Dead Sea" but it has giant spots in it. Caught my pb spot this fall which was 7lbs and have caught a lot of 4-5 pound spots. The lake has changed a ton over the last couple years since someone decided to stock blueback herring in there illegally. So that's taking some getting use to.

I know wat you mean we used to only have gizzard and threadfin but we also had someone illegally stock bbh it hasn't effected us as badly as other lakes but it did throw me a curveball first year or two

how you catching your spots? I've caught a few out here on the bull shad 6" but can't get one over 5 i know they are out there I've seen em spawning and a guy who fishes tournaments with me has caught them during tourneys

Believe it or not I caught that big spot on a shaky head out deep in brush. I'm catching a lot of bigger spots right now on a jerkbait. I catch a lot of fish cranking and throwing a jig.

Yea i catch a lot of smaller spots shakey heading roadbeds and brush or rockpiles here they like jigs too but they want em small like the bitsy jig but 1/4 oz jigs aren't good for fishing 25' deep lol. Here on west point i talked to a guide yesterday and said some of the largemouth are already getting into the prespawn transition. idk how true it is tho i probably won't get a chance to wet a line til february

The jig I went to that's still finesse but you can fish it deep is a war eagle heavy finesse jig. Green pumpkin orange is my go to color, and has a stout Gamakatsu hook in it. Water temp is 45-48 here still but I wouldn't doubt a couple warm weeks they will start moving on up.

Ill try out those war eagle jigs. thanks i have a few of their swim jigs and spinnerbaits that are pretty good

Yeah you can get them 3/8oz or 1/2oz so you can fish them deep
