Caught this fish yesterday, about 2" sore on the side of it's lip, had a matching one in the same spot on the other jaw.

I have seen those before. I have always thought that those were fish that been caught before, and the sore was the sign of hook trauma.

I caught my biggest bass ever on Christmas Eve and it had a similar sore. It was on the saltwater side of a spillway in Palm City so I figured that was why. The fish was also slow but I attributed that to the cold water.

That could be from an old hook in the mouth infection, trama from an old catch.

Looks like that bass ran into one of them flesh eating zombies. Looks like they are moving outta Miami, time to stock up on ammo.

The bass looks thick like it is eating well. Maybe the lawn/agriculture pesticides or storm run off is poisining them.

Send the photo to your stage's game and fisheries department and ask them.

Then let us know what they say.
