  1. when i went to japan and walked into different tackle shops they were full of multi piece rods you would be surprised at how different our markets are.
  2. gourd green kills them here
  3. Im headed over to cooper creek this evening to see whats going on, I'm not sure if this mornings rain will have any affect.
  4. Look at the Havoc grass pigs they are cheaper and possibly a more durable option. They are a bit longer then the keitechs, so I just pinch them to get the desired size.
  5. I went through the same thing last fall, I broke a guide trying to pull a snag, the braid whipped back and cut the guide. I went to a local shop and he said he couldn't match the guide, I was worried about voiding my warranty so i decided to just send it in and they sent me the new model. I liked the prior model better, but it's nice to have a full cork handle.
  6. This is the second Tackle Berry I visited in Tokaichiba Its kind of blurry but this was a shelf full of revo's As I was taking pictures of these scorpions the japanese store clerk told me I couldnt take any photos
  7. This was the first shop I stumbled on in Yokosuka it was a small mom and pops shop, not a whole lot here, but they did have a whole wall of rods which were all 2 piece. The second place I went to was a Tackle Berry which is a second hand fishing shop this one was located in Yokohama they had some GYBC senko's and some rebel cranks along with some jackall and other common japanese lure companys. The majority of their fishing gear was for salt water. I found a few decent rods including the picture of the Megabass rod.
  8. Im disappointed too man it doesn't do to well with braid its done ok with a 3/8 jig but on lighter weights with braid I get a random backlash I don't understand it
  9. Yes, I was in the Marines. I'm back and I will post up a few pictures this week of some JDM gear.
  10. I'm off in the morning ill report back in a couple of weeks
  11. I lived in Okinawa for a couple years, and anything near a military base was pricey. The good thing is you can negotiate prices, and I will have a local with me.
  12. I will definitely have to look through tackle shops maybe bring back a reel or some tackle 10 days is plenty of time I'm thinking about bringing my cheap 2 piece daiwa samurai combo to fish.
  13. I'm headed out to Tokyo, Japan in march anyone know any decent fishing spot's?
  14. I was at gander mt. and held a st. croix rage 7' 11" heavy moderate and it felt right for what you mentioned and it was on clearance for $100
  15. just caught a bass on one today and they come with alot more in a pack then the GYBC
  16. Maybe if he just kept the cool nascar EDGE logo and got rid of the cheesy "cast, catch, repeat" and other BS it would look better
  17. Anyone fished this specific rod and if so what techniques did you fish?
  18. I like they rage, ive looked at all of these rods in store and purchased the rage mine is a mh xf
  19. Believe none of which you hear and only half of what you see. Its like the twilight zone around here.
  20. I recently purchased a rage for $99.99 7'1" mh xf, ive only been throwing 3/8 jigs on it but im in love.
  21. hope everyone has there gear in order for the spring
  22. try dipping the tail of your worm in that spik-it chartreus garlic dip
  23. It's a decent reel I went from a Lew's BB1 to the curado-I so it felt super light to me and my newest reel is a tatula type-r, depending on how the tatula fishes this season I might get another one or go for the Lew's tournament pro. Honestly I purchased the curado because of all the hype around it and because a local mom and pop's sporting goods shop sells them for $135 NIB. I would say, pro's: it will cast light baits, you can fine tune and adjust the breaks from the outside on the side plate, re-sale value con's: like someone said before cleaning and lubing the break drum often, it feels light and cheap however, if you pair it properly with a lighter rod it wont be a problem
  24. That's interesting I just looked up the lake they wont be open until February, but I will be making the drive up to see for myself.
