  1. Ive been using swim baits and hard plastic jerk baits on the river and have been catching some stripers and a couple of small spots
  2. I just purchased 2 rods at gander mountain on sale, they are both MH XF. One is last years crucial 7'2" MH xf marked as a spinnerbait technique and the other is the St. Croix rage 7'1" MH xf. I figure ill use the st. croix as my all around t-rig and soft plastics rod being that the tip is a bit softer and ill use the crucial for jigs sense its a stiffer rod with the IM-10 blank. I will be throwing 3/8 oz jigs with braid and a fluoro leader. What do you guys think given the situation? Will I run into any trouble with that XF tip?
  3. Shimano crucial drop shot rod 6'8" medium xf
  4. I just picked up a st. Croix rage and shimano crucial for $99.99 each at gander mtn what a steal
  5. I've been having the same problem it seems the feeding is slowing down or something because 1 month ago it was wide open
  6. why not just spool it yourself so you know its done to your liking?
  7. Hey I'm in the same boat i got the 6' 8" one but I'm thinking of returning it for the longer one but it confuses the crap out of me because on the bass pro website it says the 7' 2" one is a med Lt but the model number matching to the shimano website says its a Medium power i got a memo sent to the bass pro but I'm running out of time on returning it for the longer one, honestly I like the longer one because the rest of my rods are either 7' or 7' 2"
  8. The walking worm from the late 90's me and my buddy ordered some from the tv commercial with his moms credit card what a couple of fools http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohJ3-9hmnFU
  9. I have a sellus in 6'8 MH casting and just upgraded to a black *** and what a difference i never thought comfort was that important until i made a change and noticed it. I was in a bind for money at the time and needed a cheap rod for my new reel, But i caught some nice bass and it held up if i only fished a few times a year it would be ok but if you have the money and fish often id search for something else.
  10. I hit up a lake here in a local park, texas rigged a BPS flippin craw and dragged it for about an hour I had nothing then I looked at my lure and saw some fish eggs so I dropped it down in front of me where I thought I might have seen a fish silhouette I yo-yoed the craw a few times then bam fish on, I had to walk him down the side of the dock and climb down to land him.
  11. try a walmart in the hood if you have a lot in your area i went to the one in the hood and the fishing section was overloaded with products, they even had a huge clearance display with everything from reels to plano's to lures, I guess nobody in the ghetto fishes or buys fishing stuff
  12. Ive been trying to get down there to take a look at there shop to check them out but I've been forgetting about it
  13. the bite was tough today for some reason for me we fished the alabama side of the hooch around noon and had nothing then went 15 miles south on the georgia side at 6pm and had nothing I'm thinking it has alot to do with the cold fronts and warm weather we've been experiencing here in the southeast.
  14. maybe its a southern thing but walmart is the **** down here
  15. last night guys i scored a bucoo micro 7' for $35 it had no price tag on it and it was the last one so she scanned an ugly stick man what a steal
  16. ok thanks i think what it will come down to is whether to get the mh or m power rod I would like it to be an all around rod for my soft plastics. I throw flukes, weightless worms, and also lighter bullet weights on my t-rigs because I'm a bank beater and I'm not fishing very deep water
  17. why not the crucial have you had any problems with it?
  18. Did you ever get it exchanged i know they have a lifetime warranty, this weekend I'm heading up to bass pro to look at one ill need to put my hands on one before i commit, I know everyone is hyped up with the black *** anyone own both of these for a side by side comparison
  19. so in your year did you have any issues with the rods maybe should i look at different options?
  20. I own the crucial drop shot rod and really like the sensitivity, so I'm thinking about buying the 7' worm one for my all around soft plastic rod in a medium power fast action anyone own this rod and have any input on it, the drop shot model is a bit flimsy at the tip which is great for drop shotting but I think i need something just a bit more stiff for my soft plastics like senkos, flukes, t-rigged worms
  21. im also interested in this i might be moving to cali and I'm worried my fishing will be coming to an end
  22. Thanks for the reply guys ill definitely be in a kayak more this season
  23. #1 all day Manns super frog in cypress green
