Email Notifications?

Featured Replies

Is everyone else getting email notifications to posts/threads? It doesn't look like I'm getting email notifications when someone replies to posts?

I checked in my settings and it looks like everything is still set correctly?

Assume you checked your spam/junk folder to make sure things aren't getting thrown in there by your email provider?

I've been getting emails fine so far.

I've always got mine before? I'll look on my PC and see if it's just a new Apple thing?

Nothing to do with Apple or Microsoft, but if it is flagged as spam, that's due to filters (either from your ISP, Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, or whomever your email provider is).

However, if you're using Apple Mail on a Mac, it will flag stuff as junk that bears similarity to mass mailings, etc (spammish) and flags it. You will want to mark it as "Not Junk" in that case.

Most email clients (platform agnostic) have such features...

I just changed to my other email so I'll see but that should fix it until I figure why I'm not getting them through Gmail?

My settings have not been changed to my knowledge, but BR emails are now being directed to my spam folder.

It is quite possible that your email providers/email clients have updated spam algorithms. They're always having to adapt to the spammers who are always trying to find ways around the blockers.

In the case of BR emails, it may be that something in the raw source is being flagged as spam...though not spam.

Spam fighting is kind of a shotgun blast as opposed to a laser. Collateral damage, if you know what I mean.

Select all the BR emails and say "not spam" or "move to inbox", etc. You can also create a rule in your client to never send these emails to the spam folder...

Hope that's helpful.

Changing emails worked. If I get some free time this weekend I'll dig through my Gmail and see if I can find the lost notifications.

why would you want a bunch of emails coming to you anyways? one of the first things i do on a message board is turn off the emails...

haha, i think i allow emails from admins, but thats it. i really dont need a bunch of emails telling me someone posted in a thread i posted in or whatever. when i come back i just look for a star next to the threads and i know its a thread i posted in, click the star and it takes me to the next post after my last or the last read post in that thread...
