Rod For Lucky Craft Skt110/120 Cranks

Featured Replies

Any Ideas for a rod to throw the new lucky craft skt 110 and 120 crankbaits. Specs are 2oz and 3oz and close to 5 inches long. Under $200 would be nice. I'm thinking a swimbait rod might be the ticket.

I fish the 6XD and big LCs on a Crucial Swimbait 7-11 most of the time.  There are rods out there that are geared towards those giant cranks, but most are swimbait blank based.

I use my frog rod and Powell 725 or a flipping rod for big wakebbaits and such

A lot guys on here use the Okuma guide select Big Bait rods.

That particular bait is similar in size and weight to a Strike King 10XD.   Look at rods marketed specifically for this bait and you should plenty of offerings capable of handling the SKT 110/120.

In the $200 range, Kistler KLX and the Cashion 10XD rod are good choices.

I would probably look at the Okuma MH swimbait rod. I seem to remember Skeet saying he used his c-rig rod to throw those baits.
