Abu Garcia Jdm - Neos Spinning Reel

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about purchasing a Abu Garcia NEOS spinning reel. Has anyone here used one or seen any reviews on them. I'm having a hard time finding any reviews on them.

@ $500+ on Ebay, you probably will have to purchase one and give us all a review...:Victory:

$500? That seller is nuts. They are in the low 200s all day on rakuten.

Thats were I'm getting it .... $500 is crazy

I was going to get a previous gen neo a couple of years ago but Ive since switched to baitcasters. I think its just the JDM version of the premier spinning. Probably similar to the Pflueger Patriach.

I paid under $200 for it. I'll post a review once I get it on the water.

Well I got the reel and it’s a beauty!!! Tons of detail. It’s sitting next to my CI+ and two compare the two the only advantage the CI4+ has is weight. The Shimano weighs almost 1 oz. less. The NEOS in my opinion looks more top shelf and feels more durable and is noticeably smoother. Both are sweet reels but I think I've fallen for my first Abu Garcia.

I'd be interested in seeing how it holds up to a season of hard abuse or perhaps even some repeated saltwater exposure/warm water rinses.

Me too! I'll do a review after the season after I give it a true go around. I've used the Premier however (this ones little brother) and have no complaints on that one. Thing is I only fish freshwater so I can't say how either will do in salt.

Nice acquisition, you should post pics:-) The pprevious gen revo neo was a looker too
