Which One should i put on my new jig rod? More drag Lower Gear ratio or less drag higher gear ratio?

The rod is a *** *** Black 7'1 Med Heavy

The amount of drag doesn't really matter. If your reel is set correctly its going to be set between 3 and 5 lbs, unless u lock it down for the exception of super thick cover, punching or froggin. Either gear ratio is fine

Thanks, Going to see how the feel on the rod on ways 8 oz one ways 6 oz so that will be the deciding factor

I have always felt like magnetic reels lend themselves well to pitching and flipping because of the relatively low spool speeds generated by these techniques. The SX will also provide good drag pressure and have enough IPT to be effective.
