Im going to be fishing Greers Ferry in Heber Springs, AR here in a few months and have never fished it before. Im looking for any rigs or colors that y'all like to throw, and which species bass you think you could catch the most of in a single day (Largemouth or Smallmouth). I was hoping I could get some ideas before going in completely blind haha! I would appreciate any information y'all would be able to give.

Thanks,

I have fished this lake several times over the past 30 years, but it has been awhile. Because it has been so long I'm really not sure what baits will produce the best results. In the past I always caught more Largemouth and Kentuckie's than Smallmouth. Let me know how you do I would really be interested.

I used to work around there in the oilfield. I would go to some of the parks around the lake before work or on days off and catch some small, small mouth on watermelon red Zoom trick worms fished weightless. I am not an expert at that lake at all but always carry a rod in the truck. It is a very clear lake. there are several guides for that lake, maybe they could give you some info.

Haha I haven't ever heard it called the "dead sea", but from what I have heard it is a really tough lake to fish. I will most likely be using finesse techniques considering it will be in May and the fish will most likely be in there post spawn stage getting ready to move into the pre-summer feeding frenzy. I may try to get in touch with a few guides, but it doesn't seem very likely that they will give me any info that helps them catch fish, to them thats giving away money. I will keep asking around, and try to get in touch with some tackle shops around the area and see what they are selling the most of. I will keep y'all updated on how it goes though, and share any info I find out.

Thanks fellas,
