says right on the box:

CAUTION: Thin lip design, lure may break if abused.

wonder what they define as abuse.

Let's just say you don't want to bang rocks with that bait.  I've only broken one DT6, and it really was my fault, too.  I was dragging it past boat docks, and I happened to get one that had the framed timbers coming out at an angle.  Banging off the timbers was producing fish with a Thug.  Grabbed the wrong rod, broke the DT6 on the third cast.

Fish over 3lbs.?

Though, I broke more dt10s than 6s.

But they catch fish

I fish DT's all the time banging off rocks, wood, and weeds on bottom. The only time I have broken (2) was when I had a brain fart and tried to slap the weeds off them on the water. My bigger problem is the zebra mussles fraying my flouro on the bottom stuff or cutting through lighter flouro when it gets stuck.

I"ve only owned one.  Broke it when I cast too far and it landed on a big rock at the edge of the water.  I consider this my fault and will be buying a couple more.

ive never broke a dt lure and i fish them everywhere, on rock, through brushpiles and all.  I usually will lose one ever 2 trips or so but never have broken one.

yes they do. oddly, ive never broken a risto rap or a fat rap and ive fished them x2 as much.

x2, but I don't fish as much rock as the rest of you. Minnesota is overrun with vegetation.

Never broken one but sounds like I should have. I'm bad to slap weeds off by banging the lure into the water.  :o

Cold water seems to magnify the breakage issue. Never broke one in warm water even banging the bottom but have broke them in cold water below 55 degrees.

I broke one doing the weed slap.  Now I know better.

My local Wal-Mart has Silver DT-6's on clearance for $5

I've done in 3 or more the same way.  I'm a slow learner

I like the DT 4'S and 6's. I haven't broken one - yet.

When the DT series first came out I bought 4, broke all four in the first hour. No I"m not a weed slapper.

The material they use for lips is not genuine Lexan (polycarbonate) but is more of a Plexiglass (polystyrene) which explaines the cold water breakage. If they had extended the line tie back into the bait it would have strengthened the lip quite a bit. They can be repaired and made bullet proof but if you cannot do it yourself its not worth the effort.

Wait until you have that tournament winning bass on and close to the boat and she swims off with the DT and leaves you with the lip.
