going this weekend to purchase my first packs of yamamoto grubs and kreature baits.what size/shape hooks would you recommend?   thanks

Probably the most all around/universal hook and hook size for most soft plastic ( unless they are pretty small ) is the 3/0 EWG/J Hook ( a variation of the EWG ). Gamakatsu or Owner ( I prefer Owner ).

I just use a jig head.

Oh forgot about the kreatures. I agree with the 3/0 hook.

For grubs, I use a ballhead style jig. For Kreatures, I'd use a 3/0 Owner Wide gap plus or Riggn' Hook.

Kreatures are one of my favorite baits. I use a 4/0 owner EWG.

For grubs I also like that Spro K jig head. It has a nice recessed line tie that makes it easier to come through snot grass or moss.

The Kreatures are pretty beefy, so I've used this Owner 3x strong open gap hook. The angle of the hook point sticks them bass right in the roof or there mouth.
