Does anybody know when the best time to fish for stripe and smallmouth under a dam? And what baits to use?

For smallmouth it's right now below Wilson and Pickwick Dams.

Live, big store bought are best. Otherwise try your favorite lures:

jerkbaits, grubs, Hollow Belly, Shadalicious, Wiggle Wart, Bandit

200, Silver Buddy and Kietech Swing Impact Fat to name a few.

 

For stripers find the birds. I fish live bait or The Rig. 

Any dam time. Just find some good dam bait and you will catch a bunch of dam fish.

Now what about wheeler dam? Are they running there yet? I went there last year and caught them on a spoon

Never been there, but they might be doing some dam running. There has to be some dam fish there. All you can do is give it a good dam try, I hope you catch some dam fish.
