Alright y'all I'm headin to Cedar Lake in Oklahoma for some fishin on the 19. It's supposed to be 36 in the mornin and warm up to 63 later in the day with 7 mph wind. Y'all got any tips about this lake or where to fish or anything like that? Thanks for any help and advice!

Focus on long points leading into the main lake. Right now, throwing something like a shad rap all around those points should work wonders if its done right. If you run into any schools of shad, try throwing any of your shad immitating lures through, around and underneath the school from different angles. Some bass will travel with these schools as their home because it is an easy source of food and its good cover. Plus, they will be waiting to pick off any stragglers/dying shad. You can also start throwing any crawfish immitating crankbaits that run about 6 to 8 feet deep. once it starts warming up i would throw something like a spinnerbait to see if they are ready for that yet. If they seem to be staying down in the deeper water, I would try a carolina rig with a Zoom WaterMelon Candy Baby Brush Hog. You would have to fish it pretty slow, but dragging it around those points should get you a few bites. If all else fails and the water still seems to cold to get the fish going, throw a suspending jerkbait or a jig. Good luck!  

LUCKY!  Place looks awesome, but haven't had the chance yet.  Heard some nice things. It's barely a lake - almost a pond (75 acres).

 

I wouldn't count on that weather report 11 days out.   This is Oklahoma, ya know!  But as long as we don't get another one of these wierd winter-weather cold fronts, within 3 days of your trip, It should be a pretty textbook pre-spawn pattern.  You'll have no problem working the whole place over a couple times.  I'd expect to find them up in those three coves.  Start on the outside, and work your way in.

My guess is you are more than a month away from any spawning activity on this lake, think pre spawn.

I would start at the center main lake point that divides this small lake into 2 arms at the west end.

Do you have a boat? 7 1/2 hp max OB on this lake. I like T-rig soft plastics from shore. Lipless crawdad color cranks and shad colored jerk baits, and jigs if fishing from a boat.

Good fishing, nice looking lake.

If the main lake point doesn't produce ( it should) don't over look the dam if the water is below 55 degrees.

The umbrella rig wouldn't be a bad option either slow rolled on the main points as well.  Believe that is what the record was caught on as well if I remember right.

I believe you cannot put a boat in with a motor over 7.5 hp right?  Can you put a boat in that has a bigger motor on it just not run it?

lippin and pitchin in grass so this lake is perfect for me since the deepest part is 30 feet and th bays that most fish are caught in are 10 feet at the deepest points!
