Flouro Vs Mono For Leader When Crankbait Fishing

Featured Replies

I know this question has probably been asked a million times but for crankbait fishing I have always used 2' of flouro attached to my braid.  Is that the right length and should I give mono a try?  I have heard some say that bass need that little extra stretch and others are dead aginst it.  What do you say?

I'm fishing about 2' of fluoro, but I really don't think it makes a difference

whether it's monofilament or fluorocarbon.

I don't feel that you are going to get any stretch at all from 2' of fluoro or mono or at least any that will affect the lure staying in the fishes mouth.  So I would just pick whichever you are more comfortable with.  For my treble hook fishing I always use full mono, but then braid with a leader for everything else.
