Ive heard these are discontinued...Any truth to this? Anyone use either the 3 or 5 inch version? Which presentation is most productive?

ive used the 3 inch version as a jig trailer. its wide body pushes the skirt out more for a small yet bulky profile, I also like it on a light t rig... i heard the bigger ones are good bream imitaiors..

I've got some and wasn't very impressed. They seemed to wide across and thin top to bottom with not much to put a hook in.

X2. Got them off clearance last year. Tried a few times and threw them in the trash. Too flat and thin for my tastes.

I'm not a big fan of the 5 inch. It's just bulky.

However, I do sometimes rig a 3 inch on a Manic Shad head so as to resemble the profile of a sunfish.

Wow the people who think this lure is too thin must never tried a Smallie Beaver - my main compliant is that they're (the Smallie Beaver) "one fish" lure due to how thin they are. The Beast is much thicker, and like was stated makes an excellent jig trailer. I like them on a finesse jig for skipping docks - the flat, wide profile gives the jig a spiraling fall like a tube. Flat out deadly.

Back to the topic at hand - the Main Bass Pro still has these on the shelf - or they did last week, so I don't know if they are being discontinued or not. Hope not.

Wow, I've had great luck on these for early spring Smallmouth and Largemouth. I just rig them texas style. I use them a lot for flipping the brush when the largies are in tight during the spring runoff.

When they first came out I tried them that first spring on one of the first trips. My Dad fished a texas rigged craw in the same cover, I beat him 15-1. I hope they don't get rid of them.
