Dumb question but can anyone tell me where the drain plug is on a 92' Lowe 170?

    It should be on the transom right in the middle.

    Normally at the lowest spot in the transom. If it's a jon boat it may be elsewhere on the transom. If it's a stepped hull it will be at the lowest point of the step.
