I Finally Did It! Thank You!!!

Featured Replies

I wanted to make this post to thank Bass Resource and all of its members for all the help it has provided. I have been fishing for 3-4 years since I moved from California to Minnesota(more oppurtunities to fish here IMO). For 4 year I have been using a 6' uglystik with an old shimano solstace. I decided this was the year to step it up since fishing is my absolute passion. I posted many many topics on this forum trying to learn as much as i could and what everybody's opinnions were....

My Final Setup: *** black 6'7 medium-fast, Pflueger summit 6935 with 8 lb. seagur fluoro

*** black 7'1 MediumHeavy-Fast, Lews Tournament Speed Spool with 50 lb. Power pro

I put 50 lb. braid on the casting setup because it will be used for frogging and flippin/pitchin in some heavy cover. The spinning combo will be for wacky worms, jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits under 1/4 oz. I wasn't really considering 13 rods until I felt them at Cabelas and they were far superior in balance to any of the other 100$ options IMO. Thank you to everyone who gave me advice, I am so excited to catch some Largemouth!!!

*** makes a great rod.. good luck and tight lines!

Great choices.  IMO omens are the best in their price range.  I just recently purchased some higher grade rods, but omens will remain in the arsenal.

Good luck with the new equipment.

You picked a great rod! I love my ***. The price, sensitivity, and cost vs performance is all outstanding.

well thought out combos. unfortunately they won't work. please mail them to me :eyebrows:

Good job!

Enjoy using them!

I'm in the same boat, wanted some good gear and had no idea what to get. Ended up with a 7-3 *** and tatula reel all from info on this site

I have a 7'1 MH *** and I love it as an all around stick but defiantly as a chatterbaits and spinner bait rod I can feel everything going on.
