Maps

Featured Replies

I am looking for the best source for lake/river contour maps. I have been using google earth and bing maps but that only tells me so much. I have read about the NavPlanner2 software. Is this the best? are there others? I live in MS so I would want something that shows inland lakes for this area.

I dont have depth finders capable of GPS or charts so what I will doing is viewing on the computer and getting coordinates and programming them into my hand held GPS.

Thanks for any help

Navplanner2 is pretty cool, should be good for what you're trying to do.  You can look at the Navionics website and see if the lakes you're interested in are on their map chips, if they are then you should be able to view them in navplanner2.  You can't transfer the maps out of it but you can plot waypoints on it and transfer them to your gps, I'm pretty sure you can print maps on it also but I haven't done that.

How do you see lake contour on Google Earth?

acme mapper 2.0 show you everything including contours

acme mapper 2.0 show you everything including contours

That's what I use for deer hunting.. But lakes show up as blue for me? What kind of map are you looking at?

Nevermind wasn't zoomed in enough.. Thanks!
