From 7' 2" To 7' 0" What Did I Lose?

Good Morning

Last night while putzin around, I inadvertently broke about 2" off the tip of my jig rod (Allstar ASR)

If I have a new tip installed it looks like a guide will have to be moved also to bring the spacing more in line.

My question:

How much of an affect would the loss of 2" off the tip, and a repositioning of the 2nd guide, have on the overall sensitivity of the blank?

Thanks

I don't think it will affect it too much but it will change the action some!

The minimum lure weight range will increase slightly. Sensitivity shouldn't be affected. Thread the rod and attach the line to a weight and put a bend in the rod to simulate fish fighting. If the line going thru the guides doesn't make any obviously abrupt angles, no need to reposition guides. This called "Static Testing". I use a more in depth form of this process to place guides on custom builds.

Thank's Fellas

I figured the line weight would increase as the rod lost a little flex.

Being my dedicated jig rod I was hoping sensitivity wouldn't be compromised.

I feel better.

Thanks again
