Rod Repair - Tip On A Duckett Micro

Featured Replies

Would replacing my tip guide with a full size guide cause any issue in casting or feel with all other guides remaining the stock micros on my Duckett?

Like the rod but the eyes in the micro tips keep popping out and I seem to have better luck with my other rod tips holding up to my abuse!

I have a quantum that has the micros and did that with the tip. I can't tell any difference with performance at all. It does look a little goofy, but it doesn't bother me.just depends on whether it'll bother you or not.

I am not sure where you bought from or when but,try taking it back. The worst that they can say is no!!!

I went through 3 tips last year on my micro magic, and 2 the year before that.  A regular tip will be just fine, although it'd be nice if the inserts would just stay in.....

I hear ya on taking it back. I've already taken back once for this same thing. Sounds like its a common problem

If you do replace it with another micro take a tooth pick with a little superglue on the tip and touch it in a couple spots where the insert comes into contact with the ring. It should help keep the insert in......not that you should have to do it...

You need a better quality guide not necessarily bigger. I don't want to blow it out of proportion because it's not catastrophic by any means, but I'd be hesitant to offset a micro build with a "big, heavy" tip top.
