Don't know about the bass fishing, other than they don't get very big. The weather however, sucks. Really hot in the summer and really cold in the winter. Wind blows 20+ about every other day and it's really flat so nothing to stop it.  One good thing is in Omaha you're close to the Missouri River and far enough north that it holds fish other than catfish, drum, and carp. Personally never fished it but some of the members have and from their pictures it looks like they do very well there. You also get more variety and better opportunities than what we get in KS, especially for fish like pike, walleye, saugeye, and yellow perch. 

I live here and travel to SD and KS to fish.
